This guide explains the available input types on Spottune Stream, how to select them, and what each option is typically used for.

Updated over a week ago

Step 1: Enter Input Selection

Press the INPUT button on the front panel of the Spottune Stream.
Each press will cycle through the available input sources (e.g., AUX, USB, ETHERNET etc.).

Step 2: Review Available Inputs

AUX IN

  • Connects to an external audio source via the AUX IN port on the back panel. When the Stream is receiving input from your wired connection, the Stream will display Receiving Input.

  • Ideal for wired connections such as a mixer, media player, or other devices.

USB

  • Uses the SERVICE USB port to connect compatible storage devices.

  • Allows playback of stored music files directly on the Stream. Change between songs directly on the Stream, by using the control panel to the right of the display.

Ethernet

  • Connects the Stream directly to a network via the LAN port, for playback via the Spottune Cloud.

  • Ensures stable audio streaming and access to Spottune Cloud features.

⚠️ Note: To ensure the Spottune Stream can successfully connect via the Ethernet input, please verify the following:

    1. The Stream is connected to the local network and has a valid IP address.

      • Press and hold PAUSE/PLAY + > for 7 seconds to check.

    2. The router provides a valid DNS server to network devices.

    3. The following firewall ports are open:

      • TCP/80

      • TCP/443

      • TCP/1883

      • TCP/8883

      • UDP/123

MIC IN

The MIC IN port allows you to connect a wired microphone directly to the Spottune Stream.
When microphone input receives signal, it has priority over all other audio sources — meaning that any music or content playing will automatically mute. This ensures clear and uninterrupted announcements.

📌 Bonus info: You would also use the MIC IN, to integrate your EVAC system into the Spottune system. For a step-by-step guide on how to integrate your EVAC system with your Spottune system, read our article on How to Integrate your Spottune System with your EVAC System.

  • MIC IN is located on the back panel of the Stream.

  • Simply connect a standard microphone using the AUX-style input.

  • No configuration is needed — as soon as you press the Microphone button on the front panel, the system will broadcast your voice.

  • When you release the button, normal audio playback resumes.

Step 3: Confirm Your Selection

When the desired input is displayed on the screen, simply stop pressing the INPUT button.
The selected input will remain active until changed again.
