Step 1 — Check if speakers are paired
LED meanings (on the speaker ring):
White LED = Booting up. Wait ~30–60 seconds after power-on.
Permanent Green = PAIRED and receiving audio input.
→ If you still hear no sound, go to Step 3 (Input & Volume).Blinking Green = IN PAIRING MODE.
→ The speaker has power but is not yet connected to a Stream zone.Permanent Red = PAIRED but not receiving audio input.
→ Stream/zone is connected, but no audio is coming in (or volume is muted/low). Go to Step 3.Blinking Red = NOT PAIRED.
→ Out of range or no Stream/zone available. Go to Step 2.
What to do:
If Blinking Green/Red: move one speaker closer to the Stream (or reduce obstacles) and re-pair. For a guide on how to pair your Speakers, read our article on How to Pair your Spottune System.
Power-cycle a non-paired speaker (remove/reinsert from track / unplug-replug cord) and check LEDs again.
Confirm the speaker is assigned to the correct zone (see Step 2 for zone checks).
Step 2 — Check the Stream
On the Stream display, top-left shows the number of connected speakers next to the zone indicator.
A. If the number is “0” (no speakers connected):
Make sure the correct zone is selected on the Stream (Zone 1/2/1+2…).
Put one nearby speaker into pairing mode (Blinking Green) and enable pairing mode on your Stream. For a guide on how to enable pairing mode on your Stream, read our article on How to enable pairing mode on your Stream.
If it does not pair:
Check that the antenna is connected firmly to the Stream, and placed in a V-Formation.
Try pairing right next to the Stream (range test).
Power-cycle the Stream (unplug PSU 10 seconds → plug in).
Try a different speaker to rule out a single-unit issue.
B. If the number is lower than expected (some speakers missing):
Verify power to the missing speakers (correctly mounted in track / cord PSU connected).
Verify connection status on your speakers. If the speaker is not connected it will flash either red or green. For a in-depth guide on Omni LED's, read our article on Your Omni's LED.
Reduce distance/obstacles (concrete, metal shelves, elevator shafts).
Pair one missing speaker close to the Stream; Pairing range is sometimes shorter than active range, so you can always try relocating the speaker after the close proximity pairing, or move the Stream closer to the Omni for the pairing process.
C. If the number looks correct, but there’s still no sound:
The zone is connected but not receiving audio (or is muted). Go to Step 3.
Optional checks:
Ensure the Stream isn’t in a paused/muted state.
If using multiple Streams for synchronized audio, confirm the input distribution/splitter is working and each Stream is actually receiving signal on its selected input.
D. Environment & interference basics:
Keep Stream in open air (not inside a metal cabinet).
Keep antennas vertical and clear of large metal objects.
Be aware that Bluetooth is not recommended for retail stability; use Line-in, USB or Cloud for reliable playback (see Step 3). For a deep dive into the inputs, read our article on Your Streams inputs.
Step 3 — Check input and volume level
A. Confirm the input source
Which input is selected on the Stream? (e.g., Line-in, Cloud/Network, USB).
Test with a known-good source: play a steady audio signal (e.g., phone → mini-jack line-in) at ~70% device volume.
Cables: try another AUX/mini-jack cable and verify it’s fully seated in the Stream’s input.
MIC IN priority: if EVAC/MIC IN is connected and active, it mutes other inputs until the activity ends. Disconnect MIC IN and retest.
B. Check volume at every level
Source device volume (phone/PC/media player) not muted, ~60–80%.
Stream master volume not muted and set to a hearable level.
Zone volume (if zones are used) is up, not muted.
If using Spottune Cloud:
Location/zone not muted.
Schedules/routines aren’t setting volume to 0 at this time.
ASL (Auto Sound Level) isn’t clamping volume due to very low ambient noise—temporarily disable ASL and retest.
C. Try an alternative input path
If currently on Cloud, test Line-in.
If on Line-in, test a different player/cable.
Avoid troubleshooting with Bluetooth in retail—use it only as a quick test, then revert to Line-in/Cloud for stable operation.
D. Quick reset path (if still silent)
Power-cycle Stream (unplug PSU cable 10 seconds → plug in).
Power-cycle one nearby speaker and watch its LED status through boot → pairing → green.
Still not working?
Collect this info before contacting support (it speeds things up):
Device ID or Serial number of the Stream. You find the Device ID by pressing and holding the Play/Pause+Forward buttons for 5 seconds. You find the Serial number on the back of the Stream, beneath the barcode. Please provide a photo of either or both of the ID's.
Total amount of Streams and Omni's in the location.
Stream display: zone selected and connected speaker count.
Speaker LED states (Green permanent / Red permanent / Blinking variations).
Input in use (Line-in / Cloud / USB) + test you tried (known-good source/cable).
Whether MIC IN is connected (EVAC/priority).
If Cloud is used. Any mute or schedules active in Cloud at that time.
Send the details (and photos if possible) to your installer or Spottune Support. We’ll guide you to the next step.
